No one is certain the exact age of different whale species. Humpback
whales, for instance are estimated to live upwards of 40-60 years. (We will
find out in the next 10 years or so if that is true!). Larger whales like
the blue and fin whales are believed to live up to 80-90 years. There is
also some preliminary evidence that certain species like the right and
bowhead whales may live in excess of 100 years.
