Hello Dagmar Fertl,
I am a 10th grade student at Powell County High School.  I am doing a
project on Animal Behavior.  Since I have no pets at home, it makes it
extreamly hard to do this project.  I have read about the wonderful work you
have done and wondered if you could help me.
All I will need is a simple experiment you have done with Bottle Nosed
dolphins, the results and answers to a few questions.

1) How many Bottle Nosed Dolphins you used

2) cage size

3) Temp range of water

4) and frequency of feeding

Any information you can give me will be a great help.  To send me the
information to my teacher Cathy Townsend at: ctownsend@powell.k12.ky.us

I look foward to hearing from you soon.

                                              With great Appreciation,
                                                 Amanda Barnes

Amanda,

My behavior project was about bottlenose dolphins in the wild. So, you see, none of your questions can be applied to my project. If you check around on the web, you should be able to find information about the regulations that the United States has for how large a tank has to be for bottlenose dolphins, as well as other marine mammals. For information on feeding, I bet the Sea World site has some information on that topic. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Dagmar Fertl

P.S. It is National Marine Fisheries Service that watches over all marine mammals, so if you go to their website, you might be able to find that tank size information there.
