>Do whales have belly buttons?

Cetaceans are mammals, which means they give birth to live young
and nurse them with milk in the early stages of life. It also means that
until the moment of birth, the young are connected to the mothers by an
umbilical cord inside the womb. The umbilical cord is connected at the
navel in all mammals, and when the cord is broken at birth and eventually
withers away, a scar remains, called a belly button. Thus whales have belly
buttons.
