It looks like your decimal point is in the wrong place. It is often
quoted that a blue whale can reach 100 feet in length. There is a
record of one that measured 110 feet, but it is now believed that the
measurement was done in an arc over the contour of the body, not the
accepted straight-line, tip of upper rostrum to inside median notch
length.
