2.) Well, the most common estimates are about seven or eight months of
nursing. The assumption is that at that point the calf is weaned. I do
not know for sure how long a calf might remain close to it's mother (most
estimates are that the calf will put on about twenty tons of weight while
it is being nursed...whew).
