You might try looking on the Web. There has not been a lot of research
done on communication in this species itself, though a woman named
Denise Herzing has conducted a lot of work on spotteds. But try also
look for work on bottlenose dolphin communication, since a LOT has been
done there and some of it is probably applicable to other species. try
searching on "signature whistle" to start - dolphins seem to have unique
whistles which identify them from other members of the pod (kinda like
different voices in people).
