    The two best books on this subject may be hard to find, but they are:

    Whales, by E.J. Slijper (Cornell University Press). Out of print.

    Whales of the North Atlantic, by Pierre Fontaine. See:

    The latter book has outstanding color photos.

    You might be able to get these through your library on Inter-library loan.
     otherwise, many of the (many) books on whales out there will have
    information on reproduction, and perhaps some illustrations.
