You have a nice shot of a humpback whale. If you look at the dorsal fin you
will notice that there is a hump that rises from the back just before the
fin. It is like a base plate for the fin.
There are two slpashes of white water on the body. If you look carefully at
the forward splash you can pick out the greenish white pectoral flipper
under the water.
There is also a large scar immediately above the forward splash on the
midline of the spine.
please submit the photo to Allied Whale at the College of the Atlantic
experts. They may be able to tell you which whale it is.
