Dear Griselda,

Different species of whales have different life spans, however, it is
thought that rorquals live between 25-30 years. It is easier to tell the
age of odonocetes because you can examine their teeth. Sperm whales fall
into this category of whales and females are thought to reach maturity at
28 years, while males reach maturity at 35. Scientists have also estimated
that blue whales (also a rorqual) live between 20-40 years, but no more
than 40.

Hope that helps.
