As far as I know, whales might be found in Delaware Bay anytime during
the year. However, I have heard that there may be a faction of juvenile
whales that might specifically utilize coastal areas for feeding during
the winter months. I have heard of sightings in the winter in the
Chesapeake, as well. In order to maximize your chances of seeing whales,
you might try traveling further north in New England. Many
Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine offer guaranteed sightings, and it
would be unusual to NOT see whales on most of these trips!
Good Luck!
