We are studying the necropsy of a beached whale.
We are wondering what type of whale would be found near Cape Cod in March
and why it would be there. We are a 6th grade class at the Charles River
School, in Dover. Thank you.

Without some additional details/description I am afraid I cannot answer
your question. The best persons to contact to idetify the whale would be
the Centre for Coastal Studies at Cape Cod who have dealt with the very
large number of strandings found in this area this year.

The contact for the centre is
