     On the WhaleNet site we often get questions regarding other marine
plants and animals.  We try to help, but often we too are lost.
Try this search engine:  http://www.dogpile.com

and conduct a search under oysters or bivalve.  Often once you learn the
latin name (Genus and species), search engines will provide more research
and education materials instead of culinary delights.
