1. Right whales consume 2,000-3,000 pounds of copepods daily.  copepods are 
quite small, and more than 1000 will fit into a teaspoon.

2. Female right whales mature as early as age 3-4, and have one calf every 3 
years on average.

3. North Atlantic right whales are the world's most endangered species of 
baleen whale.  There are 300-350 surviving in the North Atlantic.  Ship 
strikes are a major threat to their survival.
