Am I assuming correctly that you indeed mean the marine otter found on the
island coasts of Scotland, and not the sea otter found in California and
Alaska? I can't seem to find any reference in my home library to the marine
otter. I don't know much about them. Their habitat would seem to be rocky
shores and they exploit the rocky intertidal. The latin name for the
European river otter is Lutra lutra, but I don't think that is who you are
looking for. The sea otter is Enhydra lutris.
There are texts dedicated to otters, however, I do not have one here.
