Sounds like a great adventure.  I would recommend:  David Matilla, The Center 
For Coastal Studies, Provincetown, MA.;  Allied Whale, College of The 
Atlantic, Bar Harbor, Maine;  Flip Nicklin@ National Geographic Magazine; and 
Ken Balcomb who is probably in Friday Harbor, WA., but check for a better 
address.  I have no idea what fees for photos will be, but for quality and 
abundance, you should begin with these sources.
