Subject: Blue Whales width and height

Dear Sir:

    I have found a lot of information concerning the length mature blue
whales grow to, but have not been able to locate any statistics on either
their height or width/breadth.  Since you have such a wide body of
knowledge, I am hopeful that you can tell me.

I don't think I've ever seen those dimensions published, so I can only
guess. I would estimate that a blue whale suspended in water (not on land)
would be around 12 feet in height and perhaps 10 feet wide at the thickest
point. It might be interesting to get some other estimates and average them
out, but those dimensions seem likely to me.
