Question:
What efforts are being made to save the blue whale >from extinction?

Reply:
Dear Ben,
This is good question. Blue whales are an endangered species and are
therefore protected by Federal laws under the Endangered Species Act and
the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Under these kinds of protection it is
illegal to hunt or harass blue whales. To find out specific information
about blue whales please search WhaleNet's library pages at
http://whale.wheelock.edu/whalenet-stuff/ed_resources.html#biblio or search
for a link to the Mingan Island Cetacean Study (MICS) - this organization
studies blue whales. Thank you!
