Craig, sorry to take so long to get back to you. Please contact the
National Marine Sanctuary in Florida, office of protected resources at
301.713.2289 or view their website at http://kingfish.ssp.nmfs.gov/.
They can provide you with information on dolphin issues. Good luck! Kim
Question:
My name is Craig and I am doing research for a tv show. What type of human
development has or can have a particularly negative impact on dolphins. ie
water skiing, oil drilling?? etc. Is it possible that we can interfere
with some of their natural patterns of behaviour (ie mating) through our
presence with certain activities. Deep net fishing is one obvious thing
which comes to mind. If you can suggest a few other scenarios to me that
may be occurring a little closer to shore I would really appreciate it.
Also, what type of behavior do dolphins exhibit during times of
distress? My email address is chai@total.net Many thanks. Craig
