Dear Sylvia,

I am not as familiar with information on sharks as I am with information on
 marine mammals.  But, I imagine there are a lot of great books in your
school or local library on the basic life history information of sharks.
Sharks survive predation because they are one of the top predators in the
ocean - not many other animals are able to hunt and kill them (except humans).

Good luck finding information in the library!
