Subject: US Northeast Student Chapter meeting
The US Northeast Student Chapter of the Society for Marine Mammalogy
(NESCSMM) invites you to attend its first meeting scheduled for February
19, 1999 in Woods Hole, MA. The meeting will begin at 9:00 am
and adjourn at 4:30 pm. The meeting will include the following 6
speakers: Dr. Darlene Ketten, Dr. Michael Moore, and Dr. Peter Tyack of the
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Dr. Phil Clapham of the Northeast
Fisheries Science Center, Dr. Solange Brault of the University of
Massachusetts Boston, and Sharon Young of the Humane Society of the
United States. During lunch, students will also have the opportunity to meet
with and ask questions of the speakers.
In the afternoon, students will have the option to give short 5-10
minute presentations of their research/marine mammal interests.
Following this, chapter organization will be discussed and interested
candidates for election will have the opportunity to introduce
themselves. Election will take place in the future via an email ballot.
