Subject: Race point Right whales

For your records:

Six Northern right whales were observed between 4:30 and 5:30 PM north,
northwest of the race point parking lot. There were two pairs and two
individuals. The two pairs and one individual appeared to be moving toward
the mouth of the bay, while the other individual was heading north. The
whales were approximately 1-2 miles from shore. Blows were easily observed,
even with the rough seas. The classic v-shaped blows were observed numerous
times. All six whales were observed blowing within one minute of each other
(numerous times). The distance between the blows indicated that there were
six separate whales.

An individual whale was also observed at 3:30. This whales may be one of
the individuals noted above.

If you need any volunteers, I am available through March to assist.
