Subject: Canadian Right Whale Survey Summary

Vessel Survey Summary - Bay of Fundy, July 7

Survey began at 4430N/6630W, Vis clear, Sea state 0-1

Covered 2 track lines between 4430N and 4440N.
total cetacean count:
Harbour porpoises - 7
Right whales - 41

Most of the day was spent photographing right whales (24 were
photographed). Dive times were long (as long as 20 minutes). Although
the right whales seemed to be widely scattered, most of the animals we
photographed were gathered at 4433N/6632W, 4433N/6630W, 4435N/6630W and
4438N/6626W.
On July 5th and 6th, whale watchers reported approx 5 right whales
scattered as far east as 4424N/6613W.
