Dead whales draw crowds to Belgian beach
BRUSSELS, Nov 20 (Reuter) - Huge crowds descended on the
Belgian seaside town of Koksijde at the weekend to see three
dead sperm whales which washed up on the beach.
Belgian television said almost 300,000 people travelled to
see the whales, including day-trippers from France and the
Netherlands. They caused traffic jams up to 20 km (12 miles)
long.
The 15-metre (45-foot) long whales were washed up on Friday.
Their bodies are expected to be removed on Monday.
