Ambergris has following characters:
1. Floats in water,
2. Dissolves in pure alcohol,
3. Melts if a needle heated in fire is inserted,
4. Forms a fine thread when the needle is removed,
5. It burns if the needle is put in a small fire,
6. The inside usually has layered structure,
7. The color is usually dark brown to pale brown, and
8. It has strong smell, which remind you with sperm whale feces.
