Which brings me onto another point. Is the popularity of whale watching still
rapidly increasing with you or has it reached a plateau determined by either
public interest, or boat space/licence availability? Also do most of the people
going out on whale watch trips actively search out these destinations or are
there already and see this as `a thing to do?'
I guess that I sound a little anti-bbww. This is not really the case. I'm just
trying to explore the combination of human nature, the benefits of bbww and
dolphin swimming as a form of tourism to local economies compared to just a
couple of entrepreneurs and ensuring a correct path in the future of a 10 million
year old species that's had a bit of a hard ride over the last century.
Oh dear, trying to 'get it right' always sounds like naive optimism
doesn't it.
