Subject: location data seal "PoeGo","Jersey","Bristol"

Mike et al,

Things are getting interesting....Bristol is signaling more (keep your
fingers crossed), Jersey and Poego are heading North:

Bristol:

27567 Date : 03.11.98 13:45:00 LC : A IQ : 08 Lat1 : 41.627N Lon1 :
69.976W
27567 Date : 03.11.98 15:33:24 LC : 0 IQ : 50 Lat1 : 41.579N Lon1 :
69.916W
27567 Date : 03.11.98 23:42:11 LC : A IQ : 08 Lat1 : 41.625N Lon1 :
69.970W

These locations put her on the ocean side of Monomoy Island, a major seal
haul out. A better place than a few days ago. See the separate message
for some of the dive data.

"Jersey":

27581 Date : 04.11.98 01:21:10 LC : B IQ : 00 Lat1 : 43.905N Lon1 :
63.189W

Not much for today, but this location is over some of the deepest water so
far. Also this is the same general area that "Casino" the gray seal from
New Jersey spent a bit of time. Check the two paths. "Jersey" is in
deeper water and, so far staying further offshore. (Seems to be a popular
spot for seals from New Jersey).

PoeGo:

27580 Date : 03.11.98 10:27:40 LC : B IQ : 00 Lat1 : 54.029N Lon1 :

27580 Date : 03.11.98 12:02:44 LC : 0 IQ : 50 Lat1 : 54.187N Lon1 :
54.196W
27580 Date : 03.11.98 12:08:17 LC : B IQ : 00 Lat1 : 54.213N Lon1 :
54.558W
27580 Date : 04.11.98 05:47:38 LC : A IQ : 00 Lat1 : 45.581N Lon1 :
8.033W
27580 Date : 04.11.98 07:26:02 LC : B IQ : 00 Lat1 : 54.658N Lon1 :
55.766W

I'm taking back the nasty things I said about PoeGo when we were having
problems tracking him. Right now (keep those fingers crossed) we are
getting very good location and dive data. I will be looking at that more
closely over the next few days, but it looks like Poego has been doing
dives to over 1000 feet deep these days (more than three football
fields...down).

Regards,

ge
