Subject: seal location data "Casino"
Mike et al,
Sorry for the gap. This should bring things up to date for "Casino". We
are still getting signals, and it appears that he is moving again up the
coast of Nova Scotia. He still appears to be spending most of his time
near the coast. I will be checking the dive data tomorrow to see how much
hauling out is going on.
Meanwhile, another seal is on the way. "PoeGo" a hooded seal from the
National Aquarium in Baltimore(NAIB). He was released yesterday. So far
we have recieved three messages, but no location. This is not too unusual.
We did not recieve locations for a few days from the past hooded seals we
have released, as they tend to move fast and not spend much time at the
surface. We have a data message from the tag after release, so it appears
that the tag is active and signaling as it should, so keep your fingers
crossed.
