This site is educational in every sense. Much of it is geared toward teachers and students, but parents will discover that this an excellent place to get their kids interested in marine biology; those who are looking only to improve their own knowledge will find much to enjoy here as well. The home page (be patient, it loads slowly) contains guides to whale news, student and adult education programs, tons of links and, above all, lots of original data concerning the tracking and monitoring of these giant sea mammals. There is also an "A.S.K. a Scientist" feature akin to our own "Ask the Experts." WhaleNet has a "you are there" feeling that is infectious even to those who aren't immediately captivated by the notion of scanning the seas for a fleeting fluke.
