"Trennette" MARC-12-018 Hg
Gray Seal
(Halichoerus grypus)
This six month old female grey seal was found on April 26 at a beach in Duxbury Massachusetts. Only about 2 months old at the time, she was thin, weak, coughing, and appeared to have some neurologic issues. Trenette proved that she was a fighter and after a few months of supportive care, which included deworming, antibiotics, steroids, and nutritional support, Trenette was ready to go back to the ocean. She was released near Stratton Island, Maine - just offshore from Old Orchard Beach."Trenette"
