"Ringy", a sub-adult male, was rescued on January 21, 2006, on the north shore of Long Island, NY, at Sunken Meadow State Park. Ringy was only the seventh ringed seal encountered by the New York State marine mammal and sea turtle rescue program since 1980. He was released back to the wild on June 15, 2006, in Hampton Bays, NY.Release Images and Information from Riverhead Foundation
