NOAA/NMFS Northern Right Whale Alert Sightings
Mariners are urged to maintain a sharp lookout and use caution around right whales. Approach closer than 500 yards is prohibited and may result in violation of federal or state law.

The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) completed four tracks and sighted three (3) right whales on 8 March. Additionally, researchers from New England Aquarium (NEA) and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) sighted five (5) right whales during their research trip today.
Please note due to system problems the coordinayes for the right whale zones are approximate positions and no map is attached to this fax report.
