NOAA/NMFS Right Whale Survey

REPORT:

The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS)flew 1 thru 14 of their Cape Cod Bay tracklines. In addition, a CCS research vessel surveyed in CCB. There was a total of 7 right whales sighted and one unidentified large whale was also sighted. CCS research vessel R/V Shearwater also surveyed in CCB but did not have any additional sightings.

CONCENTRATIONS OF ENDANGERED NORTHERN RIGHT WHALES ARE KNOWN TO BE PRESENT IN CAPE COD BAY. SIGHTINGS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE FOLLOWING COORDINATES:
