NOAA/NMFS Right Whale Survey

REPORT:

The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) and MA completed 15 aerial track lines of their aerial survey in cape Cod Bay today. An additional line was flown on the backside of the Cape. A total of 20 right whales were sighted. The R/V shearwater also operated in the Bay with all right whale sightings duplicate of the aerial survey.

CONCENTRATIONS OF ENDANGERED NORTHERN RIGHT WHALES ARE KNOWN TO BE PRESENT IN CAPE COD BAY. SIGHTINGS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE FOLLOWING COORDINATES:
