NOAA/NMFS Right Whale Survey

The Center for Coastal Studies (R/V Orion) conducted a Photo-ID Biopsy cruise, Woods Hole Oceanographic Inst. (R/V Hannah) and international Wildlife Coalition R/V Wavelength) conducted a Tagging Cruise in Cape Cod Bay today. They did not run tracklines but went directly to whale sightings. Thrity three (33) right whales were observed in Cape Cod bay from the ship surveys.
CONCENTRATIONS OF ENDANGERED NORTHERN RIGHT WHALES ARE KNOWN TO BE PRESENT IN CAPE COD BAY. SIGHTINGS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE FOLLOWING COORDINATES:
