The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) made a late afternoon photo identification and tagging trip on 4 March 1997. No surveillance tracks were completed. Sixteen (16) right whales were sighted.

CONCENTRATIONS OF ENDANGERED NORTHERN RIGHT WHALES ARE KNOWN TO BE PRESENT IN CAPE COD BAY. SIGHTINGS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE FOLLOWING COORDINATES:
