"Gooch" was pickerd up 5/11/97 from Gooches Beach in Kennebunk, Maine. He was several days old and 20 pounds when he was picked up by members of the Northeast Marine Animal Lifeline in Biddeford, Maine. Because he was not weaned, the New England Aquarium staff raised him on a special baby formula that approximates his mothers milk. When he was old enough, he was switched to fish (caplin and herring). When he weighed about 75 pounds he was released (9-Oct-97).
